The Abu Dhabi Oil & Gas International Conference & Exhibition in the UAE was held in Abu Dhabi from 31 October to 3 November local time. Nearly 160 countries and regions, including China, more than 150,000 energy professionals and nearly 2,200 companies participated in the event.
The theme of the conference, "The Future of Energy: Reliable, Sustainable and Accessible for All", is a call for a smooth energy transition, accelerating the achievement of carbon neutrality targets and diversifying energy sources for the future, against the backdrop of tightening global oil and gas markets and supply cuts by major oil producing countries.
Dr. Sultan Ahmad Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and President of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) (hereinafter referred to as Dr. Sultan Ahmad Al Jaber) delivered a speech. Energy Security is the cornerstone of national energy security and "for reasons known to all" G-polotics geopolitics has a serious impact on global energy security. The reality is that oil and gas are still the most secure sources of energy globally. Maximising energy use (Max Energy) and minimising emissions (Min Emission) is a priority for the future of global energy. At a time when the energy transition and clean energy are attracting investment, oil and gas remains the top global energy priority, ahead of all other energy sources such as hydrogen, wind, solar and nuclear. The oil and gas sector is still in need of significant investment support and ADNOC's national oil production target of 5 million barrels per day will continue to be advanced.
Special Coordinator of the US President Amos said at the opening ceremony that the US will lead the Leading Energy Transition and that Energy Supply will definitely be diversified. I agree with all of Dr. Su's comments about Engergy Security, but this is a problem that needs to be solved by the Global System.
Suhail, the UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, said that the UAE will do all it can to provide the world with a wide range of energy sources, including oil and gas, and that it remains important that Dr Suhail's Max Energy maximises energy security and should also include Max Efficency to maximise extraction efficiency.
Shri, India's Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, spoke on how any oil and gas policy making affects energy security. ADNOC Dr. Su made a good point, while the energy transition requires significant investment, the reality tells us that high oil prices will also contribute to an accelerated energy transition.
Egypt is also rich in oil and minerals, including new energy sources such as wind and solar energy, said Tarek, Minister of Petroleum and Mining. Egypt has always made the energy sector a priority in its national development strategy, and the oil and gas trade has made an important contribution to Egypt's economic development. Egypt is also carrying out CO2 reduction projects, the UAE is Egypt's Brother brother country, we will work together. Representatives of enterprises from Middle Eastern countries participating in the exhibition believe that the participation of Chinese enterprises in international energy exhibitions conveys to the international community China's philosophy of promoting international cooperation in clean energy and transitioning to green and low-carbon.
Ali Jassim, General Manager of the Iraqi Oil Exploration Company: This exhibition is aimed at the global energy and environment integrated industry sector and also provides opportunities for economic and trade cooperation between companies from different countries. Chinese companies are showcasing a wide range of products that help to protect the environment, reduce carbon emissions and optimise the extraction of hydrocarbons to save energy and reduce pollution. The Chinese companies' pavilion attracted many international exhibitors and business representatives who stopped by to exchange ideas. The strong demand from foreign companies for new energy technologies and energy transition made the Chinese exhibitors confident about the future outlook of cooperation.
Hu Wenjun, General Manager of the Middle East Company of China Oilfield Services Company Limited: From the point of view of the foreign exhibitors, everyone is looking for new energy technologies and future cooperation in energy transformation, and it should be obvious that, as the exhibitors of Chinese enterprises, the technologies exhibited by our Chinese enterprises are in line with a very important direction of energy nowadays, especially in the application of new technologies, digital technologies and the construction of new energy industries, which is an important point of concern for foreign enterprises.
